Which principles is the layout checked against?

An indicative distillation of the National Aged Care Design Principles and Guidelines: small-household scale and dignity, corridor length and wayfinding legibility, communal space per resident, staff travel distances, daylight to resident rooms, access to gardens and courtyards, and building height. Each household is evaluated individually, so every warning traces back to a principle. Client deployments encode the full guidelines alongside state planning and NCC provisions.

What does the auto-fixer actually change?

It sweeps the design decisions the principles turn on, care model, building form and level count, and applies the closest configuration that clears more criteria, reporting every change with the before-and-after compliance score. Watch it dismantle a 26-resident traditional wing into households: dignity, wayfinding and communal-space checks clear in one move. The site and resident numbers stay fixed; anything it can't clear is flagged as needing a site or brief change.

How are the households generated?

Deterministically: residents are grouped into households by the chosen care model, each household gets a domestic hub (living, dining, open kitchen and a discreet staff base) with resident rooms and private ensuites along short wings, and the households are arranged as a courtyard, pavilion or vertical form. Corridor lengths, sightlines, communal ratios and travel distances are then measured off the generated geometry.

Is this meant to replace aged care designers or consultants?
