Which rules is the layout checked against?

An indicative distillation of the Apartment Design Guidelines for Victoria: building depth, daylight and cross ventilation, minimum unit and room dimensions, private open space, circulation, access, site coverage and the brief's target GFA. Every generated room is evaluated individually, so a failing bedroom is traceable to its clause. Client deployments encode the full machine-readable standards plus the site's specific planning controls.

What does the auto-fixer actually change?

It searches the design-controllable parameters, levels and the apartment mix, for the closest configuration that clears more criteria, and reports every change it makes with the before-and-after compliance score. The site dimensions stay fixed because they are a constraint, not a design decision; anything the fixer can't clear is listed as needing a site or brief change.

How does the generative engine lay out a floor plate?

Deterministically: the buildable envelope is derived from setbacks, a lift core and corridor are placed, then a quota-based packer fills each frontage with units tracking your target mix; unit frontages size themselves to the plan depth so minimum areas stay achievable. Rooms, balconies and aspect are derived per unit, then scored. The same architecture runs in our client feasibility platforms.

Is this meant to replace an architect?
